The Random House blog hop is over, and so is my contest. I have chosen three winners for the Blaze Of Winter ARCs (randomly, using one of those random picker things), and they are: Gale D. Sroelov, Karen Phillips and Donna Sing. Thank you to everyone who left a comment, and please stay tuned for more contests!

Oh, Labor Day! When I was really young, the first day of school was always the Wednesday after Labor Day. As I got a bit older, the district moved up the start date to just before Labor Day weekend…this made no sense to me but I guess it let the kids get acclimated to school before taking a breather. I always marched proudly in our town’s Labor Day parade wearing my Girl Scout uniform (is anyone surprised that I was a Girl Scout? No?). Regardless, Labor Day was always bittersweet for me, and not just because it was the last day (until May of the following year) that I was allowed to wear white. Or seersucker. All kidding aside, I always thought of Labor Day as summer’s last hurrah—the last barbeque, last long walk on the beach, and the last lazy day to lie in the grass before fall would sweep me up in school, events, and crisp, brisk weather.
To commemorate the holiday (which honors the economic contributions of workers in our country), I’m very happy to be participating in this blog hop, which also commemorates the release of my second novel, Blaze of Winter. This book was one of my favorites to write because it features a sexy-as-hell author of swashbuckling adventure novels named Theo Grayson. When he takes a room at the Star Harbor Inn, Theo thinks he’s going to get some peace and quiet. He finds something else entirely—a gorgeous, guarded social worker who seems to be hiding out. Slowly, Theo breaks down Avery’s defenses until she has no choice but to fall in love with him.
*Sigh*

Since this was a particularly tough summer for me, I’d have to say made it thru a house sale and move cross country — it mostly fell on my shoulders as hubs was sick thru most of it. The drive was the ”greatest” thing I did cause I hate driving long, boring drives. But I did it with a smile, and a comatose person beside me. Oh yeah. And one plant. Both survived. :>)
Hi Elizabeth! The greatest thing I did this summer was take my kids to PA (from SC) to visit my mom and dad for 2 1/2 weeks. I have always worked but quit about 2 years ago. This is the longest time I have spent with my parents since college. It was so great to be able to spend that length of time with them, and for them to be able to get to know their grand kids better!
The greatest thing I did this summer was hold my newborn grandson. What a joy! Thanks for the giveaway. Sounds wonderful.
Greatest thing this summer? Celebrating birthdays with my sibs as we turned
76, 73, 70, & 70. Two other sibs will be 72 & 63 in October. We are all voracious readers, maybe that’s the secret to our longevity!
Thanks for the giveaway and any book coming my way will be appreciated!

The greatest thing I did this summer was help put together a 28ft. pool in the backyard. It is not something I enjoyed; but it is one of the most difficult things I did. I feel like I’m referencing Ollivander at this point when he first tells Harry about “You Know Who” and his “great” things. :p
We did alot of camping and that was a blast and i had so much fun. noting better then being at the lake with a good book to read nad family to spend time wit.

Reblogged this on angieia.
Hey, gang! It’s been a fun, busy weekend, and I logged on to see that there were already so many comments! Excellent! I think the greatest thing I did this summer (aside from release my first book, Deep Autumn Heat!) was to spend a week in Yosemite with my family. We rented a cabin, and it was a ton of work to prep all the food, gear, etc., but when we got there and the weather was perfect and the waterfalls were gorgeous and the trees were stunning and the views were amazing, and the kids had so much fun? It was totally worth it.
The greatest thing I did this summer was take my 4 1/2 year old on a road trip from CT to NC. We sang and took turns telling jokes the entire trip. We stopped at Hershey Chocolate World where I went at his age. Watching him laugh while eating his entire homemade chocolate creation was priceless! (I also was very impressed at myself for remembering the words to the chocolate world theme song!).
Hope you enjoyed your summer. Thank you for your consideration.
Oh, I totally remember the words: Hershey’s chocolate, real milk chocolate, it’s a Hershey’s chocolate world. Wherever you go, no matter how far, you’re always near a Hershey’s bar!

The greatest thing I did this summer was get my son ready to go back to college.
I am loving these comments. People did some serious stuff this summer! There is one thing that I didn’t manage to do during the summer, and that was to put together our new grill. I really need to put that thing together, but now I’m wondering if I’m actually going to use it in fall? Is it worth putting it together only to stash it away for two seasons? As it is, it’s in a nice, tidy box…. Thoughts?
Oddly enough the greatest thing I did this summer was get a job!!! LOL now I can afford more books!

This blog hop has been pretty cool so far, right?
By the way, my book, The Bellman Chronicles, will be free to download on my Amazon Kindle page on September 10 – 11. I hope you can stop by and check it out, Elisabeth; your opinion and maybe a review would be invaluable…
Thanks for the great hop.
The greatest thing I did this summer was hang with my grandchildren.
I also read a lot.
Plus I got a kindle arc of Blaze of Winter, read it and baked Lexie’s cake posted a picture of it on FB. I had been dying to taste it since reading Deep Autumn Heat. It was even more yummy than I expected. Just so that you are aware…my husband has renamed it..he calls it porn cake. I have at least 5 people dying for you to make a gluten free version of the recipe so that I can bake them cake too. I know that it is in the works, they are impatiently waiting. I think I will be making about 10 more before the end of the year. LOL
Awesome, Patti! I love your husband’s nickname. The cake really is sinful, no?And the gluten-free recipe will be coming soon – I promise!
I went on a pioneer trek as part of the band that provided entertainment. IT was a blast!
